Blacksmith's Blade
Adult | Available
In this class, we will forge a self-handled knife from 1084 high carbon steel, heat treat it, then polish and sharpen it. These simple knives rely on the traditional skills of the blacksmith and are surprising secure in the hand and comfortable to use. Properly made, they can be a reliable camping/hunting knife (or a very light one for the backpacker), the perfect kitchen companion – or you can forge a big bowie or a camp knife if you so choose.
