Block Printing on Cotton Fabric Workshop
Adult | Available
This one-day intensive workshop covers the basics of block printing from an idea for a pattern to a finished piece of hand printed fabric. We will look at different ways to print repeating patterns and discuss different fabrics suitable for block printing. Everyone will carve a rubber print block using linoleum cutting tools. We will end the workshop with a printing session, I recommend you bring an apron to wear. Block printing can be messy but it is a lot of fun. We will be using water-based fabric ink, which dries to be permanent and washable. This workshop is suitable for anyone wanting to spend some creative time in a relaxed studio setting. The instructor is experienced in working with beginner artists to advanced students and will tailor the workshop accordingly.
