Mosaic Gift Making

Spend quality time with family and friends and relax before the rush of the holiday season or simply stay away from the malls and make your own gift. This mosaic course is an opportunity to engage in a visual conversation and discover the excitement of transforming objects into a mosaic. Mosaic is a visual puzzle, like life, it is how you put the pieces together to form the whole. The materials used will primarily be ceramic, stone, glass and found objects. In this 5-hour class you will have demonstrations and one-on-one instruction to guide your use of a
variety of materials.

Students can create a piece of work with a selection of various studio materials provided at the workshop; choose from a small sign for house numbers, or make a wall hanging. Students are welcome to bring in any personal trinkets, memento, or jewelry pieces they might want to incorporate into their piece. Please bring a simple design idea to class to work on or as a starting point.

Spark your creativity through mosaics. You’ll gain insight using the mortar method, no need to use messy grout and still achieve a beautiful piece. Taught in a unique, fun, and easy way in a relaxing and supportive atmosphere.

This course is being offered specifically for beginners and projects are with our time frame of 5 hours in mind. A substrate base will be available as part of the class materials. This is a perfect way to try out mosaics and decide if you would like to take a more in-depth class being offered in the future.

  • There is a $4 registration fee included in tuition.

Members will have the $4 fee deducted from the tuition.
A Materials fee of $26.00 is included in the tuition.
