Weave a Scarf on a Floor Loom

This class is designed for beginners and for those who would like a refresher on how to prepare a loom for weaving. On the first day, students will choose between a few provided scarf patterns and then decide on yarn colors. They will then proceed to learn how to prepare the loom for weaving. On the second day, students will weave their scarves using floor looms. Students will be able to weave for the whole class day and scarf lengths will vary depending on the speed of each weaver. Yarn for the scarf is included in the class fee.

This class will take place over one weekend. We will take a lunch break during each day.
There is a $4 registration fee included in tuition.
Members will have the $4 fee deducted from the tuition.
There is a $20.00 materials fee included in the tuition.

**Please note that classes at Brookfield Craft Center must meet a minimum number of 3 registrations for the class to run. Students will be notified within a week's notice whether their class will be held. If the class is canceled due to low enrollment, students may request to be transferred to another class or be refunded in full.
Katie Strano
Katie Strano is fiber artist focusing on small scale production weaving, and art pieces for her business, Heddle Over Heels. She has worked with regional farmers to create handwoven pieces using their locally grown wool and fibers. In addition, she offers private weaving lessons and is also the floor loom and rigid heddle weaving instructor at Brookfield Craft Center, in Brookfield, CT.
