Tool Sharpening

Adult | Available

Nearly every newcomer in the woodshop asks the same questions: How often should I sharpen my tools? And what’s the best way to sharpen them?

This class will answer those questions and give you hands-on practice with a variety of tools you’ll use most often at the lathe and the workbench. You’ll learn how to sharpen woodturning tools with a clever jig for a grinder. And you’ll learn how to use a set of stones to put a good edge on chisels and plane irons. We’ll have tools you can use for practice. And if you own one or two tools that need some TLC, bring them along to hone them in class.

All Students are encouraged to bring a work apron or smock to each workshop

  • There is a $4 registration fee included in tuition.

Members will have the $4 fee deducted from the tuition.

**Please note that classes at Brookfield Craft Center must meet a minimum number of 2 registrations for the class to run. Students will be notified within a week's notice whether their class will be held. If the class is canceled due to low enrollment, students may request to be transferred to another class or be refunded in full.
