The Finish Line

There are literally thousands of products you can use to finish a piece you’ve turned on the lathe–from home brews made with vinegar to exotic oils and waxes to chemicals with strong odors and hard-to-pronounce names. This class will help you make sense of those confusing choices. The instructor will cover the pros and cons of the main types of finish—oils, films like shellac, as well as the new crop of hard-wax finishes. You will go home with a sample board of different finishes to aid in future projects.

  • There is a $4 registration fee included in tuition.

Members will have the $4 fee deducted from the tuition.

A materials fee of $27.00 is included in the tuition.

**Please note that classes at Brookfield Craft Center must meet a minimum number of  2 registrations for the class to run. Students will be notified within a week's notice whether their class will be held. If the class is canceled due to low enrollment, students may request to be transferred to another class or be refunded in full.

All Students are encouraged to bring a work apron or smock to each workshop.
