Forge Welding for the Blacksmith
Adult | Available
In this class we will focus on the science and art of forge welding for the blacksmith. Although the student may pursue a project if desired, the main purpose of the class is to get a grounding in various forge welds and to become comfortable enough with the process to incorporate it into your normal workflow. We’ll start with a simple weld and proceed, depending on the interest of the class, through various specialized welds, like a collar weld, celery weld, drop-the-tongs weld, butt weld etc. We will work in both the gas forge and the coal forge as appropriate.
Recommended for the student who has some experience.
Note: This is Not a Damascus class, no pattern welding.
