Learn to Turn a Pen

If you've ever wanted to learn how to use a lathe, making a wooden pen is a great place to start. Using off-the-shelf pen kits, you'll learn how to make one of the most satisfying lathe projects. Pens are fast and easy to make and the results are spectacular. They make great conversation pieces and are always appreciated as gifts.
Ages 16 and older.
- There is a $4 registration fee included in tuition.
Members will have the $4 fee deducted from their tuition.
There is a materials fee of $15 included in tuition.
** Safety Glasses must be worn and All Safety Guidelines followed **
SAFETY FIRST* Closed toed shoes, Fitted sleeves, Long hair tied back.
All Students are encouraged to bring a work apron or smock to each workshop
Don Metz
Boat builder, woodturner Don Metz operates Wood Z Way Studio in Southbury, CT. Studied at BCC with Keith Thompkins, Richard Raffan and Jim Degen. Studied folk art painting with Carol sue Roberts and at the Maritime Museum in Burlington, VT. Taught boatbuilding and epoxy casting technique at BCC. Member of the Nutmeg Woodturners League and the American Craft Council.
