Introduction to Bladesmithing
Adult | FULL
In this one day class, students will learn to forge, grind, heat treat and finish a simple utility/hunting knife. These blades will be forged from a single piece of 1084 high carbon steel and finished with a paracord wrapped handle. You will leave this class with a set of foundational skills central to bladesmithing, along with your finished knife.
There is a $4 registration fee included in tuition.
Members will have the $4 fee deducted from the tuition.
A materials fee of $17.50 is included in the tuition.
Please note that classes at Brookfield Craft Center must meet a minimum number of 2 registrations for the class to run. Students will be notified within a week's notice whether their class will be held. If the class is canceled due to low enrollment, students may request to be transferred to another class or be refunded in full.
** Safety Glasses must be worn and All Safety Guidelines followed **

Simon Rhodes
Simon Rhodes has been forging blades for 8 years, since taking a blacksmithing class at the Brookfield Craft Center at age 11. Since then he has apprenticed under ABS Journeyman smith and forged-in-fire champion, Matt Parkinson, and been published in both Blade and Knives magazines.
