Jewelry at the Lathe

Exotic hardwoods can make beautiful one-of-a-kind jewelry. It’s easy and fun. Spend a weekend learning how to make beads, bracelets, and more at the lathe. You’ll also learn how to make your creations sparkle with metal leaf and paints. We’ll bring the wood. You bring your creativity and style.
Sat. & Sun., 10 am - 2 pm each day
An Open Studio session will follow Sunday's Class from 2:00-5:00 to give you time to work on your own creations.

No prior turning experience needed, beginners are welcome
There is a $4 registration fee included in tuition.
Members will have the $4 deducted from tuition.
There is a $57.00 materials fee included in tuition.
Please note that classes at Brookfield Craft Center must meet a minimum number of 2 registrations for the class to run. Students will be notified within a week's notice whether their class will be held. If the class is canceled due to low enrollment, students may request to be transferred to another class or be refunded in full.
Safety Glasses must be worn and All Safety Guidelines followed

All Students are encouraged to bring a work apron or smock to each workshop
David Heim
David Heim is a former member of the board of directors of the American Association of Woodturners. He has been turning for 20 years and teaches regularly at the Brookfield Craft Center and other schools across Connecticut.
David is also the author of “Saws, Planes, and Scorps: Exceptional Woodworking Tools and Their Makers,” which The New York Times listed as a design book that's easy on the eyes.
