Turn A Bowl In A Day

Spend an afternoon turning a small bowl from a beautiful hardwood like cherry or sapele. Even if you’ve never made anything at the lathe, you’ll end the day with an original bowl that has a food-safe finish.
All Students are encouraged to bring a work apron or smock to each workshop
There is a $4 registration fee included in tuition.
Members will have the $4 fee deducted from the tuition.
There is a $27.00 materials fee included in the tuition.
**Please note that classes at Brookfield Craft Center must meet a minimum number of 2 registrations for the class to run. Students will be notified within a week's notice whether their class will be held. If the class is canceled due to low enrollment, students may request to be transferred to another class or be refunded in full.
David Heim
David Heim is a former member of the board of directors of the American Association of Woodturners. He has been turning for 20 years and teaches regularly at the Brookfield Craft Center and other schools across Connecticut.
David is the author of “Saws, Planes, and Scorps: Exceptional Woodworking Tools and Their Makers,” which The New York Times listed as a design book that's easy on the eyes. He is also the author of SketchUp Success for Woodworkers (Cedar Lane Press). He has been teaching students nationwide how to use the program for more than 15 years. He has also created more than 700 SketchUp models that can be downloaded from SketchUp’s 3D Warehouse database.
