Intro to Spindle Turning: Making a Candlestick Holder

In this hands-on woodworking class, participants will learn the art of spindle turning while transforming a simple block of poplar wood into a stunning, personalized large candlestick. Over the course of the session, students will gain an understanding of the fundamentals of turning, including tool usage, spindle techniques, and finishing processes. The finished candlestick will stand approximately 10 inches tall, showcasing each student's unique design.
The class will begin with a thorough demonstration on proper tool handling, an overview of the turning process, and essential safety practices in the studio, ensuring a comfortable and secure learning environment. By the end of the class, participants will leave with a beautiful, handcrafted piece they can proudly display or gift.
There is a $4 registration fee included in tuition.
Members will have the $4 deducted from tuition.
There is a $23.00 materials fee included in tuition.
Please note that this class at Brookfield Craft Center must meet a minimum number of 2 registrations for the class to run. Students will be notified within a week's notice whether their class will be held. If the class is canceled due to low enrollment, students may request to be transferred to another class or be refunded in full.
Safety Glasses must be worn and All Safety Guidelines followed
