Here is your chance to get outside and create artworks beyond the studio walls. We will work surrounded by the beauty of New England in Autumn, but you will be encouraged to find your own artistic expression. Each participant can work with art materials of their own choosing but we will discuss a variety of best practices for completing artworks on site followed by a group critique after each session. We will work from a variety of locations to be determined before each class but remaining close to or within the Melrose area.

  • (Materials can vary according to the students preference. At a minimum here are a few suggestions. Specific set up options will be discussed at first meeting.)
  • - Surface - Paper/Canvas/Panel. No smaller than 8x10” no larger than 20x24”
  • - Sketchbook and sketch materials
  • - Materials - pencils, eraser, charcoal, crayons, color pencils, watercolors, acrylics, oil paints (student preference)
  • - portable easel, chair, drawing board, table, ground blanket, etc
  • - Water and snack
  • - Weather appropriate clothing
