Everyone has a story. In this workshop participants will have the opportunity to work on developing a compelling story from start to finish. The first class will focus on what makes a good story and how to find the stories in your own life. The second class students will have the opportunity to workshop their story, interact with their peers and give feedback. The final session will be a storytelling showcase for the Melrose community.

This class will meet from 7:00 - 8:30 PM on 11/7, 11/12, with a final class and performance on 11/14

Rilda Kissel is a Melrose resident and Lincoln parent. She first began getting involved in storytelling through a project at the Harvard Graduate School of Education where she participated as both a teller and a coach. She enrolled in a class through Boston’s Massmouth and began participating in local story slams. In 2019 she was named Audience Choice in the Massmouth “Big Mouth Off” at Somerville Theater, and was featured on WGBH’s tv show Stories from the Stage. She recently had the opportunity to study the craft of storytelling at the Moth in NYC.
