Designed to help writers practice important aspects of storytelling or poetry, this class consists of prompts focused around character development, conflict, setting and dialogue. The goal is to produce a more complete short story or series of poems. Bring your creativity and your favorite writing tools.

This is a virtual class, and a device with a camera and Internet connection are required. The instructor will be able to see and interact with each artist, and artists will also be able to see and interact with each other.

Links and passwords for Zoom classrooms will be included in confirmation emails.

Sara Reish Desmond taught high school English before earning her MFA in Fiction from Vermont College of Fine Arts. Her work has been published in journals such as The Kenyon ReviewLos Angeles ReviewFront Porch and Waterstone.
