Well-written dialogue puts readers in the minds of our characters, revealing their motivations, histories, and shortcomings, and drives our plot to its (inevitable) conclusion. Done well, dialogue draws readers in and controls the story's pace. This Monthly Writing Session will highlight good dialogue examples, allow writers to practice using prompts, and offer resources to help writers of all genres improve their written dialogue.
