In this 2.5 hour per week, 5-week ceramics class, potters will alternate time on the potter’s wheel and time hand-building. Students will learn and practice basic techniques. Supplies and firing costs included in the fee. Class is capped at 6 and must have 4 enrolled to run.

Dates: Jan 8, Jan 22, Jan 29, Feb 5, Feb 12  

Age Group: This is a class for students in grades 9, 10, 11, and 12 as well as adults. We do not know what the make-up of a class is going to be until enrollment is complete. We have had success with mixed-age groupings. We have adult-only classes on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings. Students who do not meet the age criteria must contact ceramics@fyamelrose.org to ask for permission to participate, but such a request is not a guarantee of enrollment.

Class Type: This is a ceramics class. Students will alternate spending time on the wheel, hand-building, and decorating / glazing.

FAQ: When will pieces be ready for pick-up? The minimum amount of time to get a ceramic piece out of the glaze kiln is 2-3 weeks after the session ends.
