Adult Ceramics: Wheel-throwing & Hand-building (Wednesday 6-9PM)

This semi-private ceramics class focuses on learning and developing hand-building and wheel-throwing skills. Students will receive individualized instruction based on where they are. Open to novice students and students with experience. Scheduling: 6 weeks of class plus an additional glazing class session. Formal instruction begins at 6:30. Students can arrival between 6:00 and 6:30. The glazing session will be held on November 2'cnd between 10AM-3PM. Individual slots will be booked in class.
- Class fee includes Instruction for 6 series classes + a 1 glazing class 2 weeks after class ends on a Saturday. We use brown stoneware clay and studio-made glazes. 20 Lbs of Clay with glazes and firing costs included in the fee. Additional clay is available at a per pound cost. All pieces are limited to 8” in height and width. The studio provides basic tools; however, you are welcome to bring your own Kemper Pottery Tool Kit. Classes must have 4 enrolled to run.
Alessia O'Brien
Alessia O’Brien is a ceramicist and printmaker based in Melrose, MA. Their approach to art is tactile, organic, and fun, with a soft spot for functional work. They graduated from the New Hampshire Institute of Art in 2016, and have been a working artist since.
