This course fulfills the NYS 5 hour pre-licensing course mandated by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles. Students must successfully complete this course before scheduling a road test. Students that successfully complete this course will be awarded course certificate (MV-278). You must provide certificate number when you schedule your road test.

*NO SHOW or ARRIVAL AFTER 10 MINUTES INTO CLASS START TIME REQUIRES NEW REGISTRATION AND NEW PAYMENT. NO EXCEPTIONS!

*ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE AND BRING A VALID PERMIT TO PARTICIPATE IN PRE-LICENSING COURSE. IT IS REQUIRED TO ATTEND CLASS.

  • **STUDENTS MUST COMPLETE THE COVID-19 HEALTH SCREENING WITHIN 24 HOURS OF ATTENDING THE CLASS. A LINK WILL BE PROVIDED TO STUDENTS UPON REGISTRATION IN A CONFIRMATION EMAIL. NO STUDENT WILL BE ADMITTED WITHOUT THE COMPLETED COVID HEALTH SCREENING!!!
  • **MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL IN ATTENDANCE, TO MEET CAMPUS SAFETY REQUIRMENTS.
  • **DUE TO CAMPUS COVID SAFETY REQUIRMENTS, NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO ACCOMPANY STUDENTS INTO THE BUILDING!
  • Please bring a writing utensil and paper. There will be several short breaks, so food and beverages are allowed during break times.
Mushtare, John

John has been a science teacher at the middle and high school levels since 1991 and a K-12 Building Principal since 2020. He began teaching Driver and Safety Education in 1997 and has been teaching the 5-hour pre-licensing course since 2013. John is passionate about safe driving and offers an entertaining view of the responsibilities of licensed drivers.
