In this learn to sew course for beginning beginners, we will make "needlebooks". These functional and decorative little items were common from the 1800s through the mid-20th century. They were handy and convenient, and often made from scrap fabrics. They were meant to hold a person's needles and pins, which were important tools, and they are still handy today. In this class we will discuss woven and non-woven fabrics, learn to sew on buttons by hand, and also learn to use the sewing machine to sew straight lines and turn neat corners. Students will complete a needlebook in one session.
