In this learn to sew course, designed for novice sewists and those who would like a refresher course. We will create a useful tool for your new hobby: a combined pincushion and thread catcher to sit at your sewing station and help you stay neat and organized. In addition, we will be creating this by "upsewing" an old pair of jeans, scraps of fabric from an old dress shirt, and a small bag of rice or dried beans. We will use a pattern, cut out the project, sew using the sewing machine, create a "box" bottom, and discuss the importance of ironing/pressing when sewing.
