755 - Cardboard Assemblage Workshop

In this workshop, we examine the possibility of using some overlooked materials such as cardboard and recycled papers, to create something beautiful while focusing on skill enhancement to develop abilities and nurturing creativity. We will develop an idea by assembling our materials to create 3D works of art, to experience broader concepts around collage.
During the workshop we will review:- Introduction on assemblage
- Creating a simple composition by using monochromatic color pallet
- Understanding forms in creating 3-D artwork
- Introducing concept and incorporating it into the composition
- Simplifying the concept in forms and colors
- Developing the techniques in creating 3-D assemblage
- Some cardboard and paper will be provided, however, students must supply the following:
- Scissors
- 4 oz White Glue (Elmer's Glue-all is a good option)
- Brush to apply glue (A Foam brush or old paintbrush would work)
- Cardboard and paper (depending on how large you want to work)
- Acrylic Paint (optional)
- Brushes for Acrylic paint (optional)
