Do you want to incorporate gold into your work but minimize the cost? This workshop will cover ways to add gold details by using the following techniques: fusing, Keum-Boo, the application of bi-metal, and working with gold-filled materials. We will also discuss gold-plating, and those interested can send completed work to Red Sky Plating at the end of the session. (Expect a 2 to 3-week turnaround.)

No metals, plating, or postage are included in this workshop. Most techniques will utilize silver, but copper and brass are also suitable for plating. You can purchase gold-filled wire and sheet at Rio Grande Jewelry Supply. A limited supply of bi-metal and gold foil for Keum-boo will be available for purchase from the instructor (approximately $35 per square inch of 18kt 24 gauge for the bi-metal; $11 a square inch for the gold foil.)
