407 - Multi-level Jewelry and Metalsmithing

This class is for both beginners and experienced jewelry students. Basic metalsmithing and jewelry techniques will be demonstrated for beginners in addition to demos for experienced students working on individual projects.
The Jewelry studio has a dress code, due to the presence of fire, chemicals, sharp objects, and heavy objects the Studio.
To minimize the risk of injury, all Jewelry students must wear:
- Closed-toe shoes (no flip-flops or sandals)
- Pants, leggings, or long shorts
- Long sleeve shirts or t-shirts (No crop tops or tank tops)
- Long hair pulled back
- Beginning Jewelers will need one 6x6" 20 gauge copper sheet and copper wire. This can be purchased on the first day in the Jewelry Studio, or from Rio Grande. Average cost is $30.
Metals can be purchased in the Jewelry Studio or at Rio Grande. Cost will depend on each student's project.
Wax and investment can be purchased in studio or from Rio Grande.
