771 - Intermediate Knitting
Adult Class | Registration opens 2/28/2025 12:00 AM CST
As intermediate knitters, you will choose among a selection a main project featuring one of the following intermediate skills: cables, colorwork, lacework and chart-reading, or 3D pieces such as gloves. While you will spend the bulk of the spring session working on your chosen project, the first 15-30 minutes of each class will be spent learning a small intermediate technical skill, each of which will support your main projects, as well as your pattern comprehension going forward. You will have the opportunity to block your finished project in class.
Intermediate Knitting Supply List
- At least 2-3 skeins of worsted wool yarn - Cascade Superwash OR Regular Cascade from Yarn Barn of Kansas are recommended. If you prefer a different brand or source for your yarn, just make sure it is at least 80% wool and that it is worsted weight. Solid colors recommended. - $11.50 each
- 16 inch size US 8 / 5mm circular needles - this size of needle will work nicely specifically with your worsted weight yarn; circular needles are great because they can be used for round projects AND flat projects! They can be found at Michael’s - if you prefer wooden or plastic needles, feel free to purchase those instead. - $5.99 ? Stitch markers, which can also be found at Michael’s - $6.49
*Depending on your chosen project, specific materials in addition to those aforementioned may apply; if you plan on knitting a very large garment and need to block it at home, you may also need your own blocking materials - additional materials will be discussed during the first class meeting.*
