407 - Intermediate to Advanced Metalsmithing and Jewelry Design

This class is for experienced students with jewelry-making experience. Demonstrations will be geared to student interests, with a focus on skill-building and mastering chosen techniques. Advanced students will focus on individual projects. Prerequisite: Must have taken at least 10 weeks of Beginning Jewelry with TAC or have equivalent equivalent experience.
The Jewelry studio has a dress code, due to the presence of fire, chemicals, sharp objects, and heavy objects the Studio.
To minimize the risk of injury, all Jewelry students must wear:
- Closed-toe shoes (no flip-flops or sandals)
- Pants, leggings, or long shorts
- Long sleeve shirts or t-shirts (No crop tops or tank tops)
- Long hair pulled back
- Metals can be purchased in the Jewelry Studio or at Rio Grande. Cost will depend on each student's project.
