411 - Introduction to Wax Carving and Casting - All Levels

Adult Class | Registration opens 11/21/2025 12:01 AM CST

In this class you will learn the basic wax carving skills & casting. We will work with hards and soft waxes to create rings, pendants and earrings. You will complete 2-3 castings. Wax and casting materials are included in the supply fee. Metals are not included.

  • The Jewelry studio has a dress code, due to the presence of fire, chemicals, sharp objects, and heavy objects the Studio.


    To minimize the risk of injury, all Jewelry students must wear:
    • Closed-toe shoes (no flip-flops or sandals)
    • Pants, leggings, or long shorts 
    • Long sleeve shirts or t-shirts (No crop tops or tank tops)
    • Long hair pulled back

  • Supply fee covers wax and investment during class. Metals are not included in the supply fee and can be purchased from studio or from Rio Grande. Cost depends on metal choice and student project. Instructor will discuss metal choices and prices on the first day.

    Additional wax and metals can be purchased from Rio Grande.
