440 - Ring Bling with the Hydraulic Press

In this three-week class, you will learn how to create rings using a hydraulic press. Working with impression dies and silver sheets, you’ll press, cut, file, and shape your own rings—from simple band designs to rings featuring a gemstone setting. Silver material available to purchase.
The Jewelry studio has a dress code, due to the presence of fire, chemicals, sharp objects, and heavy objects the Studio.
To minimize the risk of injury, all Jewelry students must wear:

- Closed-toe shoes (no flip-flops or sandals)
- Pants, leggings, or long shorts
- Long sleeve shirts or t-shirts (No crop tops or tank tops)
- Long hair pulled back
- Materials are not included in the tuition price. Students can purchase materials from Rio Grande or the Jewelry Studio. Approximate cost of materials is $150.
Students will need:
- 3" 18-gauge Silver wire
- Gemstone
- Bezel cup
- 3x3" 20-gauge Silver sheet
