387 - Experimental Acrylics

In this class, you will learn and explore the endless possibilities of acrylic paint. Learn about different types of acrylic paint, such as fluid acrylics, and how to use mediums and pastes to create different textures and effects. We will also go over impasto, pouring, printmaking, and using acrylic “oil” paint.
- Bring to first class:
- Acrylic Paints with a set of double primaries such as (cadmium red & alizarin crimson, ultramarine blue & cerulean blue, yellow ochre & hansa yellow), titanium white and carbon black.
- Heavy paper such as a watercolor paper or small canvases 9x11”
Materials needed later:
- Gloss medium, molding paste, and other gels and pastes
Your instructor will review supplies at the beginning of the class, and will also be providing some sample paints.
