354 - Acrylic Painting for Beginners

This beginner class is for adults with little or no painting experience. You will have a chance to express yourself creatively and learn the basics of painting on canvas. Exercises will be done with acrylic paint to better understand color, lighting, and technique. Learn in a fun and casual atmosphere. The goal for this session is to create two or more paintings.
Previous drawing experience recommended.
PLEASE NOTE: This is an 8-week class starting April 7.
- Paints
Acrylic Paints - Titanium white (a large tube)
- Mars black
- Primary yellow
- Primary red
- Phthalo green
- Cerulean blue
- Primary blue
- Purple
- Burnt umber
Brushes
- Small, medium and large flat brushes with largest being at least 1” wide
- Small, medium and large round brushes
Miscellaneous
- Canvas boards 16” x 20” or larger knife (trowel-shaped with rounded tip)
- Pencils
- kneaded eraser
- A smock or old shirt
- Rags or paper towels
- small empty jars or containers (with lids)
