440 - Ring-in-a-Day with Hydraulic Press

In this one-day workshop, you will learn how to create rings using a hydraulic press by creating a silver ring. Working with impression dies, you will press, cut, file, and shape your own ring. Participants will leave with at least one ring in their chosen metal.
Participants who attended the etching workshop can use their etched plates as chossen metal, or as a texture plate for their metal of choice.
The Jewelry studio has a dress code, due to the presence of fire, chemicals, sharp objects, and heavy objects the Studio.
To minimize the risk of injury, all Jewelry students must wear:
- Closed-toe shoes (no flip-flops or sandals)
- Pants, leggings, or long shorts
- Long sleeve shirts or t-shirts (No crop tops or tank tops)
- Long hair pulled back
Students can bring their own metal to work with or purchase metals from our supplies: either 3 inches of 8-gauge sterling silver wire, or a 3x1/2" sheet of 16-gauge sterling silver.
Cost depends on metal type and whether purchasing wire or sheet metal. Estimated cost for sterling silver wire is between $20-$30. Estimated cost for sterling silver sheet is $48-$55.
