392B - Impasto Painting

In this class, you will learn how to add texture through various painting techniques and acrylic mediums. From glossy gels to thick pastes, to gels with aggregates, we will explore the world of acrylic additives and use brushes, nontraditional applicators, and palette knives to build dimensionality and physicality in your work.

Watercolor paper (inexpensive option), or Canvas Panels 9x12" or 11x14"
Acrylic Paint
Set of Fluid or Heavy Body paints (Blick is economical option, otherwise recommend Golden brand),
including Primary Colors plus Black and White
Brushes (Recommend Silver Brush brand, but Blick Scholastic works well)
One flat and one round, size #8 or #10
One #2 round (taklon)
Instructor will do a demo on brushes and different kinds of acrylic paint, as well as supplying some acrylic gels and grounds for experimantation
